The Awakening is the exciting debut album from the dynamic-darkwave duo, Auger. Forged in the industrialised north of England, Auger’s hard-hitting and hyper-melodic approach to music is a true breakthrough in the goth/industrial scene.

Auger’s sound takes influence from the likes of BlutEngel, Project Pitchfork and Gothminister mining the finest paydirt from all scenes of music, both new and old. Whilst listening to the album, you can’t help but hear and experience a comprehensive range of different musical-ores from industrial, to darkwave, to metal all smelted together to create a truly unique casting of songs.

From start to finish, the thirteen tracks take you on a journey of self-discovery, mourning, and regret. As it follows August, an aristocrat and owner of a successful mine, and his head miner and long-term friend, Erwin. As they race against time to save August’s wife from a wendigo, a gaunt, emaciated and violent creature, formed within the darkest depths of the mine.

The Awakening will be available on 6th April 2018 as a beautifully designed 6-panel digipak CD and digitally across all good streaming and online platforms.

Auger are Kyle Wilson (21) lead vocals, keyboards, programming and Kieran Thornton (21) guitar and backing vocals. Founded in July 2017, AUGER quickly sold out their debut CD single ‘New Life’ / ‘My Guardian’ (Rebco Records UK), gaining radio play as far away as North America. The track ‘My Guardian’ was subsequently selected to appear on Gothic Music Orgy Vol 4 released on The darkTunes Music Group label (DE).

As a result the band signed a three album deal with darkTunes Music Group who will release the bands debut album ‘The Awakening’ (via Soul Food Distribution), on Friday the 6th of April 2018.

AUGER completed their debut 10 date UK tour in late 2017, and they have already been selected to open for the likes of The Crüxshadows, Ost+Front, Star Industry & Gothminister.

 

They are now looking to unleash their dramatic live performance on the European mainland and will undertake their debut shows in Germany, in September 2018 as tour support for Stoneman. Their first UK show’s of 2018 see’s them open for Davey Suicide and Massive Ego.
